Clive Palmer only went into government to vote on legislation related to his mining interests (like repealing the mining tax) and then showed up to work less than 10% of the time. Imagine showing up that infrequently at any other job and expecting people to take you seriously. His voting record most aligns with the Liberal party and we all know how shitty they are so…

He also campaigned heavily on a lot of things he then immediately ignored from that point on.

Once he’d failed to get any traction for his party next election and disbanded it he then asked the Queensland treasurer to bail out his failing Queensland nickel refinery... by an amount he could have personally covered.

The only reason why anyone pays attention to him anymore is his bizarre tweets followed by ableist and antisemitic memes (which many believe to be a distraction from his failing nickel refinery and subsequent court issues.)

He’s literally just an incompetent and entitled old rich white dude who thinks a position in government is a way to serve his business interests, that the government should just give him money for nothing, and has no interest in doing any work outside of that which benefits himself… plus he’s racist. But if the people who like him are racist and can’t be convinced that racism is bad then hopefully they can at least be convinced that he literally doesn’t give a shit and just wants a 6 figure government hand out for never showing up to work. He had his chance in government to do something positive and he didn’t even do it. It’s not even a hypothetical that he’ll be selfish and useless - it’s his proven track record.
